Car Care, Right Where You Are

Service Terms & Booking Agreement

Version 1.0 · Effective date: October 12, 2026
Hillside Mobile Auto, LLC · Cache Valley, Utah

Agreement and acceptance

These terms are a binding agreement between Hillside Mobile Auto, LLC, a Utah limited liability company (“HMA,” “we,” “us”), and the person booking the service (“you” or the “customer”). By ticking the acknowledgment box and completing a booking, you agree to them for that appointment and for any later appointment booked while this version is in effect.

The terms cover every HMA service: oil changes, add-ons, tire rotations, seasonal packages, and pre-purchase inspections (PPIs). Where a service-specific term conflicts with a general one, the service-specific term applies.

You confirm that you are at least 18 years old, and that you own the vehicle or have the owner’s permission to have it serviced. For a PPI, the vehicle usually belongs to a seller, so the extra consent rules in the customer responsibilities section also apply.

Agreeing electronically has the same effect as signing on paper. Your booking confirmation, the price list shown at booking, and these terms together are the whole agreement. Anything said outside them does not change them unless HMA confirms it in writing, and text or email counts.

Services

HMA performs the maintenance services and inspections listed below at your location. Current prices are on the price list shown at booking, and the price you see when you book, plus sales tax, is the price you pay for that scope of work.

ServiceWhat it covers
Full-synthetic oil changeOil of the correct viscosity and spec for your vehicle (up to 5 quarts), oil filter, correct drain-plug washer or gasket, battery test, walk-around visual check, tire pressure check and fill, washer fluid top-off, oil-life monitor reset, and a written inspection card. Vehicles over about 75,000 miles get high-mileage oil at no extra charge.
Add-onsWiper blades (standard or premium, fronts only or fronts and back), cabin air filter, engine air filter, battery installation (customer supplies the battery), a tire rotation, and a seasonal package at a bundle price. Add-ons are booked with an oil change, not on their own.
Tire rotationRotation of all four tires, plus tread depth, tire pressure, and a visual brake-pad thickness read. Sold with an oil change at the add-on price or on its own.
Seasonal packagesSpring Refresh, Summer Road-Trip Ready, and Winter Storm Prep. Each includes a battery test, tire rotation and checks, fluid checks, a code scan, and a season-specific check. Sold on their own or at a bundle price as an add-on to an oil change.
Pre-purchase inspection (PPI)A Basic (Level 1) or Comprehensive (Level 2) inspection of a vehicle you are thinking of buying, with a printed report.

Fluid top-offs. HMA always asks before adding coolant, power steering fluid, or brake fluid. A normal top-off is free. If a fluid needs much more than that, HMA will stop adding it and note a possible leak or issue on your inspection card instead.

Oil selection. HMA chooses the oil brand and always matches the viscosity and certification your manufacturer specifies. If you need a specific product or spec, tell us when you book.

Inspections are visual, not diagnostic. The walk-around, inspection card, and seasonal checks record objective readings and visible conditions, such as tread depth, tire pressure, and fluid level. They are not a diagnosis, a full mechanical inspection, or a promise that nothing else is wrong.

Not offered. HMA does not perform brake repair, A/C recharge, or other repair work. Online quick booking covers 2000 and newer domestic, Japanese, and Korean gasoline vehicles. European vehicles, pre-2000 vehicles, and diesels are accepted only by request, after HMA confirms them.

Pre-purchase inspection scope

HMA’s Pre-Purchase Inspection is visual, non-destructive, and non-invasive, with one specific exception: the Comprehensive (Level 2) inspection includes wheel removal at all four corners for the purpose of measuring brake pad thickness and checking rotor condition. Outside of that exception, component teardown, engine disassembly, and removal of body panels or protective shields are outside the scope of this service.

Booking, scheduling, and service area

An appointment is confirmed only when HMA sends you a confirmation by text or email. HMA serves Cache Valley, Utah, from Wellsville to Smithfield, and may decline a booking outside its service area, for a vehicle it does not service, or for any reason it cannot safely or practically do the work. If HMA declines, your deposit is refunded in full.

HMA takes appointments Monday through Saturday, from 6 AM to 9 PM. Your confirmation shows the appointment time. Reminders go out 24 hours and 2 hours beforehand.

If HMA is running late, we will text or call you as early as we can. Jobs run on a schedule, so an earlier job that takes longer than expected can move your arrival time. We will always tell you before that happens.

You are responsible for accurate booking details: the vehicle’s year, make, model, and engine, plus the VIN if you have it, and the exact service address. If the vehicle turns out to be different from what you booked, or the address is wrong, HMA may need to reschedule, and the cancellation policy may apply.

Customer responsibilities and site requirements

HMA can only do safe, quality work if the vehicle and the site are ready. By booking, you agree to the following.

Pre-purchase inspection consent and seller access

A PPI involves a third party. The seller is not HMA’s customer, but the seller controls access to the vehicle, so the customer and the seller each have to agree to different things.

WhoMust agree toWhen
Customer (the buyer)These Service Terms, and confirming that the seller has agreed to the inspectionAt booking, along with the seller’s address
SellerThe inspection itselfConfirmed by the customer at booking, and again with HMA on arrival
SellerA road test, for the Comprehensive (Level 2) PPI onlyWith HMA on arrival, separately from the inspection

If access is limited. If the seller is not there or does not allow the inspection when HMA arrives, HMA does not inspect and the no-show terms apply. If the seller allows the inspection but refuses the road test, or refuses any other part of it, HMA completes everything the seller does allow and records each limit on the report. The PPI fee is not reduced, and HMA is not responsible for what could not be evaluated because access was restricted.

Before performing any Pre-Purchase Inspection, the client must acknowledge and accept these Service Terms. The seller must also grant permission for the inspection and, separately, for a road test where one is included. If a seller declines to allow a road test, this will be noted on the report as: “Road test refused by seller; system could not be objectively evaluated under driving loads.” Responsibility for that limitation rests with the party who restricted access, not with Hillside Mobile Auto.

At booking, a PPI customer gives the seller’s address and confirms that the seller has agreed to the inspection. If the seller is not there or does not allow access when HMA arrives, the no-show terms apply.

Pricing, payment, and additional work

HMA sells a fixed-price menu. All prices are before sales tax, and the price shown when you book, plus sales tax, is what you pay for that scope of work. The only ways the total changes are extra oil, extra work you approve, or applicable sales tax.

Cancellations, rescheduling, and no-shows

Deposits are credited toward your total.

Cancel more than 24 hours ahead and your deposit is refunded in full to your original payment method.

Cancel later, or miss the appointment, and your deposit is forfeited.

If you need to reschedule your appointment, at least a 4 hour notice is required in order for your deposit to carry forward to the new time.

If HMA cancels or has to move your appointment because of weather, illness, an equipment problem, or a safety concern, you choose a new time with your deposit carried forward, or a full deposit refund back to the original payment method.

ServiceDeposit
Oil change, standalone tire rotation, seasonal package, or Basic (Level 1) PPI$20
Comprehensive (Level 2) PPI$40
A deposit is required to book most services, credited toward the total price. If an appointment is canceled with more than 24 hours’ notice, the deposit is refunded in full. If an appointment is canceled with 24 hours’ notice or less, or if Hillside Mobile Auto arrives and the customer is not present, the deposit is forfeited. If rescheduled with reasonable notice, the deposit carries forward to the new appointment.

Reasonable notice for rescheduling means at least 4 hours before the appointment. Cancelling for a full deposit refund requires more than 24 hours’ notice.

A no-show means HMA arrives at the booked time and address and no one is there to hand over the vehicle, the vehicle is not accessible, or, for a PPI, the seller does not allow the inspection, and HMA cannot reach you within 15 minutes.

Weather. HMA works outdoors. Rain, snow, ice, lightning, or extreme temperatures can make the work unsafe or the outcome poor, and HMA may reschedule for any of those. A rescheduled appointment for weather is never a late cancellation on your side.

Vehicle condition, unsafe conditions, and recommendations

HMA is responsible for the work it performs, not for the condition your vehicle was already in. On arrival, HMA photographs the odometer and does a walk-around to record existing damage, and photographs the finished work when done. Those photos are part of your service record.

Pre-existing conditions. Parts that are worn, corroded, seized, cross-threaded, brittle, or previously damaged can fail when they are touched, even with proper care. Examples include a stripped or over-tightened drain plug, damaged oil pan threads, a seized oil filter, and brittle plastic parts. HMA is not responsible for a failure that comes from a pre-existing condition. If HMA finds one, we will tell you immediately, before any repair is made, and you decide what happens next. For a problem HMA cannot fix on site, HMA will stop and recommend a repair shop.

Drain pan and drain plug repair. If the drain hole in an aluminum oil pan is stripped, HMA will tell you right away and say whether it believes the hole can be repaired. HMA only attempts a repair when it believes the repair will work, and only if you ask for it and approve it first. The repair is a flat $50 to re-thread the hole, and you pay it only if the repair holds. No fix, no fee. You understand that a repair attempt can fail, and that HMA is not responsible for the condition of a pan or drain hole that was already worn, damaged, or stripped. If the oil has already been changed, HMA has to drain it again. You are responsible for the cost of any additional oil, whether or not the repair holds. HMA does not attempt thread repair on steel oil pans. If you choose not to have the drain pan or drain plug repaired, HMA is not responsible or liable for any additional service fees, charges, repairs, towing, or similar costs that result from that condition.

Findings and recommendations. HMA notes what it observes on your inspection card, such as tread depth, tire pressure, fluid levels, or a visible leak. HMA may recommend that you have something inspected or repaired. You decide what to do. HMA is not responsible for what happens if you decline a recommendation.

Unsafe conditions

If Hillside Mobile Auto determines that performing a service, or any portion of a service, would be unsafe, due to ground conditions, weather, vehicle condition, or any other hazard, the affected portion will not be performed. The issue will be noted on the service record, and the customer will be offered either a rescheduled appointment at a different time or location, or a partial refund for any services not rendered.

Tire rotation refusal

Hillside Mobile Auto reserves the right to decline to rotate any tire that shows severe uneven wear, dry rot or sidewall cracking, or tread depth worn below a safe or legal level. If a tire is found in this condition, rotation will not be performed, the issue will be noted on your service card with a recommendation to have it inspected or replaced, and no charge applies for a declined rotation.

Pre-purchase inspection findings

All findings provided as part of a Hillside Mobile Auto Pre-Purchase Inspection are objective observations and data only. Hillside Mobile Auto does not make a recommendation to buy, negotiate, or decline any vehicle. The customer is solely responsible for their own purchase decision based on the information provided. This inspection reflects Hillside Mobile Auto’s best professional evaluation of the vehicle and its systems on the date and at the time of inspection only. It does not constitute a guarantee, warranty, or certification of the vehicle’s condition, reliability, or fitness for purpose, either at the time of inspection or at any point afterward.

Fluids, parts, and workmanship warranty

If a problem was caused by how HMA performed a service, HMA will fix it at no charge. For example, a leak at the drain plug or oil filter that HMA installed is covered. Tell HMA within 30 days or 1,000 miles of the service, whichever comes first, and HMA will re-do or correct the work.

To make a claim, call or text 801-866-3466 or email hi@hillsidemobileauto.com with the service date and a description of the problem. HMA may need to look at the vehicle. If HMA cannot fix the problem, HMA will refund the fee for the affected service.

The workmanship warranty does not cover:

Parts HMA installs carry only the manufacturer’s own warranty, if any. The next-service reminders, the windshield decal, and the oil-life monitor reset are conveniences, not a promise about when your vehicle needs service. Follow your owner’s manual for actual service intervals.

Limitation of liability and customer release

If HMA damages your vehicle or property through its own negligence while performing a service, HMA will repair the damage or pay the reasonable cost of repair. HMA is not responsible for damage that comes from a pre-existing condition, from inaccurate information you gave, or from a recommendation you declined.

Beyond that direct repair obligation, HMA is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Those include loss of use of the vehicle, towing, a rental car, lost time or wages, and missed appointments. HMA’s total liability for any one service is limited to the amount you paid for that service, except for direct repair of damage HMA caused as described in the first paragraph.

You release HMA from claims caused by conditions you did not disclose, by a lack of the property-owner permission you confirmed at booking, or by a site you told us was suitable and was not. If you gave HMA false information or did not have permission, you are responsible for resulting claims against HMA.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that Utah law does not allow to be limited, including liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or personal injury caused by HMA’s negligence.

Pre-purchase inspection limitation of liability

In no event shall Hillside Mobile Auto be liable for any incidental, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from the purchase or operation of a vehicle inspected under a Pre-Purchase Inspection. Total liability for any errors, omissions, or negligence in performing the inspection is limited to a refund of the fee paid for that specific inspection.

Environmental handling, privacy, and photos

HMA takes used oil and filters away with us and recycles them at a Utah Used Oil Collection Center. Nothing is left at your home. HMA uses a drain pan and a containment mat to keep fluid off your driveway, and will clean up any spill it causes. Parts HMA removes are HMA’s to dispose of, unless you ask to keep them at the time of service.

Information HMA collects. HMA collects your name, phone, email, service address, vehicle details (year, make, model, engine, VIN, mileage), service history, and photos of your vehicle. Card payments are processed by Square, and HMA does not see or store your full card number.

How HMA uses it. HMA uses your information to schedule and perform the service, keep your service record, take payment, and send reminders: about 5 and 6 months after an oil change, and ahead of each seasonal package window. Reply STOP to a text, or email HMA, to stop reminders. HMA does not sell your information. HMA shares it only with the services it uses to run the business, such as Square for booking and payments, and email and text providers, and when the law requires it.

Photos. HMA takes arrival and completion photos to record your vehicle’s condition, and inspection photos for PPI reports. They stay in your service record and may be used to resolve a dispute. HMA will not use photos of your vehicle or property in marketing without your permission.

By booking, you agree to receive service-related texts and emails about your appointment, such as confirmations and reminders.

Disputes, governing law, and contact

If something goes wrong, contact HMA first. Most problems can be fixed with a call or a text, and HMA will work with you in good faith before either side goes further.

These terms are governed by Utah law. If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, it will be handled in the courts of Cache County, Utah, and either side may use small claims court where it applies. Nothing here removes any right you have under Utah consumer protection law.

HMA may update these terms. Each version has a number and an effective date. A booking is governed by the version you accepted when you made it, and a new version applies to bookings made after it takes effect. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If HMA does not enforce a term once, it has not given up the right to enforce it later.
